Iran Khodro Co ( IKCO ) was founded in 1962, under the name of “ Iran National ”. Over the years, iran khodro has developed its capabilities and has become the biggest industrial group in Iran that performs industrial activities and services in the automotive sector in both passenger and commercial vehicles.
Determined to be a world-class car manufacturer, iran khodro founded its own R&D, engine development, and test centers, together with latest technology of production machinery, equipment and facilities, which were established in cooperation with European leading countries in automotive industry including Germany and France.
Since 2003 iran khodro company has exported passenger cars to more than 40 countries mainly located in CIS, Middle East, North Africa and East Europe regions. iran khodro vehicles have been warmly welcomed in countries such as Russia, Belarus, Syria, Turkey, Iraq, Venezuela, Azerbaijan, etc.
Export of automotive parts and casting parts is among other major overseas activities of IRAN KHODRO CO Developing export is a strategic prospect for ikco , which is another sign of movement of the company in the path of internationalization and its promotion as a regional company and even an international entity.
The word khodro (خودرو) means ” automobile ” in Persian, hence Irankhodro means ” Iran Automobile “.

IRAN KHODRO Co is the biggest automaker in the Middle East Region and owns a large share of Iran’s auto market.
The company has five manufacturing plants across Iran. Total capacity of all Plants is more than one million units per year.

In order to provide after sales services and give support to IKCO customers, iran khodro currently has 675 3-S dealers in its domestic distribution network. The main activities of IKCO in After Sales Services field are as follows:
- Training Domestic and Overseas dealerships network human resources at both technical and Staff levels
- Technical and specialized support of dealers on Network Standardization, special tools, repair shops equipment, updating diagnostic tools (software and hardware) and implementation of recall campaigns
- Network Development appropriate with the number of available vehicles in each Region
- Customizing Warranty Policies to adapt regionally required services
- Marketing and recognizing the need of target markets and exact request of customers in different regions

- Peugeot 206 ; A saloon version of the 206, the Peugeot 206 SD also co-developed with Peugeot in year 2005. (End of production)
- Peugeot 207i ; By 2011, IKCO produced about 15,000-20,000 units Peugeot 207i. The production of 207i stopped in 2012 during relation cut between IKCO and Peugeot because of international sanctions against Iran.
- Peugeot 405 ; Available in saloon trims GLI and GLX and estate trim GLX (End of production), Peugeot 405 trim SLX with 1.6L 16 valve PSA TU5 engine (End of production)
- Peugeot 407 ; As CBU (About 2000 are imported to Iran by Iran Khodro)
- Peugeot Pars ; Initially called the Peugeot Persia. Changes include a redesigned front and modernized rear (End of production)
- Peugeot RD ; Chassis and drivetrain are similar to the older Paykan but the outer body shell and appearance resemble a 405, production of this car ended in favor of the ROA.
- Peugeot ROA; Modified version of Peugeot RD, production of Peugeot ROA was discontinued in 2009.
